USATT National Team represents the best of the best players of table tennis in the United States. USATT the 2009 National Women's National Team is composed of Jun Gao, Glass (Yao Xi) Huang, Ariel Hsing and Lily Zhang. Gao top 30 world rankings to qualify for the team. Huang Hsing and each qualified for the team through qualification testing. Lily Zhang was named to the team after being selected by the coaches National Teams Committee and approval of the Elite Athlete. Both Zhang and Hsing, aged thirteen, is the youngest member to participate in the Women's National Team. His coaches believe that these youth are the future of Team USA. Young people have demonstrated their skills necessary to compete at a high level. Those who attended these young stars in the action they believe will achieve the 2012 Olympic Games. Young people have given renewed hope, with practice and dedication, the U.S. team win a medal Olympics in the near future. Jun Gao and Crystal Huang are more experienced players. The two competed for the United States in 2008 Beijing Olympics. Gao was the number one player in the U.S. since he joined in 1994.
Man USATT National Team members are David Zhuang, Cheng Yinghua, Shao Yu, Wang and Timothy. Zhuang, Cheng Shao and each won their place in the team standings in the trials. Timothy Wang was chosen neighborhood as a player by the coaches of men's men's national team and approved by the Committee of elite athletes. David Zhuang was a member of the team, United States 2008 Olympic men Player just qualified for the individual competition at the Olympics. Is currently ranked 242nd in the world. Cheng Yinghua, at the age of 51 years is the oldest player on the team and is currently ranked 231st in the world. Shao Yu is ranked 520th. Timothy Wang, who at the age of eighteen years is the youngest player on the team, ranked 863rd.
To qualify for the team National and athlete male or female table tennis should be ranked among the top 30 players in the ITTF world ranking. U.S. Athletes that meet this criteria will be offered a place on the team list.
Athletes can also get a spot on the team National successfully compete in U.S. Nationals. Final sixteen athletes participating in the U.S. National men and women in the individual events are eligible to represent the U.S. World Championship table tennis. Competition in the World Championship athletes qualify for team trials National, where athletes can earn their place in the list.
This method of team selection is to select coaches. A place on each list is reserved for a player who is chosen by a select panel of coaches USATT National and then approved by the Advisory Committee on high performance.
The athletes selected for this elite team are considered the best table tennis players United States, and many even become included in the USATT Hall of Fame.
