Some Popular Cat Breeds

Cats are playful and lovable and different breeds have their own characteristics. We will consider some breed of cats that give them their names:

Persian

Persian is the type of cat that you can groom and fawn over and is one of the most well liked pet around. With their regal hairs, these cats are absolutely stunning and they are loyal and affectionate cats too. Persian is furry and comes in almost every color that you can imagine. Such cat is docile and will accompany you to watch TV and you can pet it all you like.

Siamese

Siamese is a popular breed and almost everyone recognize it. Besides being stunning with big blue eyes and elegant coat, they require little amount of grooming. They are a smart feline but can be quite annoying when they try to attract your attention with their yowling voice. Manx is a unique breed of cat that has no tail but aside from that they are a muscular and solid breed. Burmese

Burmese is medium size but muscular and affectionate but not to the extent of freaking you out. They are a stunning cat with short glossy coat and Burmese are generally categorized into traditional, contemporary and European. The traditional is sturdy and muscular with a rounded head while the contemporary has a stocky body and prominent round and space eyes with stunning color such as sable, champagne, platinum and blue. European as the name implied takes on a more foreign look. They are graceful with slimmer body and they come in many colors. Burmese is great companion as well as a loving and smart cat.

Himalayan

The Himalayan in addition to being popular breed is a sweet and demonstrative cat but need plenty of grooming. It is heavily boned with round body and the coat makes it even expansive. Himalayan exists in two facial varieties and they are extreme and traditional. Both varieties have small and rounded ears with full cheeks and a prominent chin. If you prefer to deal with fewer health problems then choose traditional. Himalayan is a great indoor cat with streak of liveliness in them.

Abyssinian

Abyssinian is the kind with lots of energy and very active as well as playful. It has striking green and gold eyes and come in midsize with conspicuous tick pattern. Abyssinian is fun and entertaining and comes in 3 different breed colors.

• Ruddy, where it has orange and brown color
• Red, with warm fur color that is accompanied with chocolate brown spots
• Blue, which is a unique color.

The striking colors make Abyssinian a refined and regal cat with soft, silky coat that is medium in length.

Egyptian Mau

Egyptian Mau is a gorgeous and striking cat with natural spot and very muscular. They may be well built but not heavy and very fast with rounded head as well as almond shape eyes that is green in color. They are distinctive from other cats with their spots that differ in shape, size and location. They are smart, active and extremely loyal with beautiful coats of medium length.

A medium size domestic cat, Burmese is said to have originated in Burma, though records of its early existence have been discovered in Thailand as well. The cat was first introduced in United States in nineteen thirties. It was bred with Siamese cats in its development and thus shares certain physical and behavioral similarities with the latter. Evolution of the Burmese was quite different in the United Kingdom. Indeed the Burmese is often classified into two groups, namely the American and British Burmese. Both have certain physical differences, with the British variety being more oriental in appearance and the American Burmese having a somewhat cobby physique.

Burmese are medium sized cats with a muscular, athletic body. Coat is short in length, silky in texture and shiny in appearance. Originally only sable colored cats were given formal recognition. However, other colors are accepted as well now, including blue, brown, cream, chocolate, lilac and red. Eyes are large and copper to golden in color. Their brightness and expressive appeal are a source of great beauty for the Burmese.

Healthy and active felines, Burmese have no significant medical ailment in their lines. They are very gentle though and even though reports exist of them being able to defend themselves, many believe that they should not be left outdoors unsupervised for fear of conflict with feral and wild cats, coyotes and automobile accidents.

Burmese are a very affectionate and tender breed. They are very people oriented and almost dog-like in their loving attitude towards people. They are deceptively heavy when picked up and are cuddly and adoring in nature. The lustrous coat doesn't shed nor require daily brushing. Less vocal than the Siamese, they have a very soft voice. Playful and intelligent, Burmese take no time in establishing their presence in the house, taking care to supervise all the activities.

Good deal? My Burmese Ruby, White Topaz and Blue Apatite?

hey all, i'm starting a little collection of loose, natural, and brilliant & round cut gemstones, and I was just curious if you guys thought these were good deals (already purchased, they are all round cut):

Pig. Blood Red Ruby; 1.36 carats, 6.51mm, heated, SI - $17.27 + $7.00 shipping from Thailand.
Blue Apatite; 4mm, .30 carats, unheated, VS - $0.99 + $4.95 shipping.
White Topaz; 7mm, 1.58 carats, VVS - $0.99 + $6.50 shipping.

Mainly I want to see if the ruby was a good deal or not?

The topaz and apatite are not too bad but the problem is the shipping cost which is about 5 times the value of the stones. The ruby is, without a doubt, the material that, when it comes out of the ground, is totally unfit for anything but a mineral sample. It is heated to close to its melting point and often has other materials melted into the structure to hide the cracks. For what it is the price is not over the top (providing it is as per the description) the market is absolutely flooded with this material at the moment. For a fine natural, untreated Burma ruby you would be paying around $3000 per carat.
Probably not what you wanted to hear, sorry.
