Where do some of these french terms of endearment come from?
I heard once the mon chou was derived from the old saying about girls being born in roses and boys in a field of cabbage. but other terms such as:
ma puce,
ma bichette,
mon poulet
mon (gros) loup
if anyone can kind of explain this to me that would be great. especially being referred to as a flea
hmm well i have no idea for the terms of endearment, but i can answer the flea one.
back in like medieval/elizabethan/jacobean times everyone had fleas, and since they would roam around a person's naked body, romantic poets and such said things like they wanted to be a flea, so they could do the same thing to women they liked... I hope that's right, i learned it in literature class
