acrostic poem HELP?
In my L.A. class we have to do this acrostic poem on a color. It has to do something with fall (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Fall) and the color itself.
My color is "claret". It's a deep red color, like that red wine color.
For the acrostic poem you have to do alliteration (like sally sells seashells by the seashore which has many s's), metaphor, onomatopea(those sounds like meow, woof, eek, boo, etc), or simile. Its ok to have more than one of these btw.
Can you please give me some ideas with any of the above for any letter in CLARET?

While I can not give you ideas, I can give you some aid on how to go about creating your poem. Free write. Write about your color....do some research to find out more about your color and maybe known items in your color. Perhaps you can give your color a taste to it....write about what the color could potential feel like or smell like...what feelings you get from it...then format it to an acrostic. As far as your alliteration that is easy to put together once you have all your thoughts down. its a matter of changing the words for one of the same meaning so they have the same sound RhymeZone a site I use can be very helpful

Is Bordeaux wine French or English?
To me it seems silly how anyone would think it is not French as the region is in France, but my English friends all say it is English wine and it is called claret. But then again, the English say sherry is English, even though sherry is from Spain. So are all the vineyards in Bordeaux English owned or something?
What a lot of words for a simple answer. It is French. You are correct, and your friends are mistaken.
The English world "claret" is used to describe the colour of the wine, not its origin or whether the people who grow it are British or French. At one time it described only wine made in the Bordeaux region.
Bordeaux nowadays is an "appellation controlée" for wine grown within the specific region in France , and Sherry is the designation of the aperitif wine made in the Jeres region in Spain. Neither Bordeaux nor Sherry are English.

It is a protected name within the European Union, describing a red Bordeaux wine, accepted after the British wine trade demonstrated over 300 years' usage of the term.

PS. By the way there are some English or American people who have bought wine producing estates in the Bordeaux region. It still remains that the wine produced there is French and not English or American. The Rothschild family is one example.
