What You Should Be Aware Of About Selecting Glassware
Glassware is a popular choice for gifts of all types. Due to their fragile nature, most people have the need for additional decorative or useful glasses on a regular basis. No matter how much care is taken in washing these delicate objects, occasionally accidents happen. They are dropped, goblets get placed in a dishwasher improperly or a chip or crack appears for no particular reason.
The definition of the term applies to any object made of glass, but most people understand it to mean the part of a table setting used for drinking. There are three major categories of glasses. Most households have stemware, tumblers and footed containers.
Tumblers have a straight side that goes all the way down to the flat base. The names of common tumblers are usually related to the drink that is most often served in the glass. A container that holds iced-tea is tall and slim. It may flare slightly from base to top. A juice holder is shorter and wider but still with straight sides. Beer tumblers might be named by the amount of the amount of beer served in the glass.
Footed glasses have a flat base and a bowl, but there is no stem on this type and they can be more ornate. They may be whimsical. The feet can appear to be added on or they may "grow" from the bowl's base. Punch glasses might be shaped this way. A footed example designed in this manner may not have the bottom of the bowl touching the table or coaster. The feet are flat bottomed, but raise the base above the surface of the table.
Stemware feature a flat base, usually disk shaped surmounted by a narrow stem or neck, with the bowl atop the stem. Some of the typical stemware pieces are a brandy snifter, cocktail holder, sherbet or ice cream bowl or one for consuming wine. The brandy snifter has a short stem, and wide bowl that is somewhat narrower at the top that an the base of the bowl. A cocktail container has a very wide bowl atop the stem.
Sets of glasses in crystal may not be strong, but they are beautiful. They sparkle when sitting on the pantry shelf and are attractive when used as part of a place setting. Most homeowners like to have several types of glasses to use for different purposes. Using imaginative choices for the different beverages helps your place settings to be interesting.
Many brides register their choice of glassware so that those choosing wedding gifts know the preferences. Glasses of all types make great gifts for housewarmings. Just a small gift to let a friend know that you miss getting together for a shared drink of iced tea is a great way to get that habit restarted.

My fellow amateur mixologists. 2 questions?
Q1. Ive had the hardest time finding a proper muddler in this city and don't have anyway to order one online, but by a chance of luck my friend had this broken mini red wings bat and I sawed off the end and have a nice functional muddler. What bar tool did you have to be creative about getting.
q2. what custom drink did you make that as far as you know, you invented yourself.
"Double S"
(Shannon= name of girl I made drink for)
(Sherbet= key ingredient)
In a tall glass add 2 scoops of rainbow sherbet ice cream in a glass add a shot of of silver tequila(middle shelf or higher) and fill the glass with carbonated fruit punch, stir gently.
double S , sounds good. i invented the KKK (i am not racist) Krystl's Krazy Kamikaze = wine cooler, with peach/any schnapps and vodka.
as far as the muddler... good idea, we grow tons of fresh mint and make all sorts of muddled mint drinks.
as far as the bar tool: my friend got real drunk and decided to make frozen drinks with a meat slicer, he chopped the ice with the meat slicer, the drinks were awesome, we never told him the blender was only about 10 feet away!! good times
