Here, since the base is a square, so length and width are equal: L = w = 12 and h = 20

Watch Batteries - Know Your Options For What You Need

They are miniature and quite a few of them resemble pennies, however they are much more than that. They are the heart of your watch that keeps it ticking. Even though you pay a significant amount money for that shiny gadget on your wrist, without that much less expensive watch battery, all is you end up with is an oddly shaped paperweight.

It is usually a small things that end up having so much meaning, a diamond, a broken toe, or your watch battery. Even though there are numerous watches manufactured that are powered through winding or by automatic movement, the vast majority of watches nowadays are analog or quartz and are battery-powered.

The time has past when peoples fingers were sore from having to wind the tiny dial on their watches. Those days are history ever since Energizer introduced to the consumer market the first watch battery back in 1957. The watch industry was prepared for just such an invention as well; manufacturers worked very hard to meet the new market demand started by this small round disc. Watch batteries have also become known as button cells, because they look so much like, well, buttons. With an average voltage roughly between one and three volts, these small devices do pack quite a punch, usually enough to at least keep your watch ticking and marketing for quite some time.

That is basically another way of saying, you have the pop the top and take a look for yourself. Timepieces are just one use for watch batteries. A clear class paperweight in the shape of a cylinder has a red glass cone embedded in it. The circular base of the red cone is the same size as the base of the cylinder. The height of the cone is only half the height of the cylinder. If the volume of the cylinder is 30 cm cubed, find the volume of the cone.

I have no idea how to find it without the actual measurements of the cylinder?

The point to remember is that a cone has one-third the volume of a cylinder
when both have the same height and circular base.
If the cone is only half the height of the cylinder it has a volume one-sixth of the cylinder.
So it does not matter how tall or wide the cylinder is, as long as the volume is given.
In this case the cone's volume is 1/6 of 30 cubic cm.
Volume of cone = 5 cubic cm.
